Austin Medical Center traces its roots to St. Olaf Hospital, which began meeting the medical needs of Austin and surrounding communities in 1896. Soon after, four physicians established the Austin Clinic as a multi-specialty medical practice in 1919. Both organizations joined to form Austin Medical Center in 1995, and became a part of Mayo Health System, an affiliate with Mayo Clinic.
