Sola Fide Observatory,
Austin, Minnesota.
Sola Fide Observatory was donated to the city of Austin,
in the fall of 1991, by a local doctor. The observatory is located 5 miles south of Austin, on 3 acres of land. Housed under the 12' Ash dome is a 10" refractor, with a 5"refractor mounted piggyback.
The observatory is open to the public two saturdays a month. A group of volunteers runs the observatory programs, in conjunction with the JC Hormel Nature Center.
The observatory holds an annual star party one weekend during the summer, when astronomers from the surrounding area, spend the weekend camping on the grounds.
The public is welcome to come out and do some observing through different telescopes that are available at the observatory.
